What I Saw In The Forest Of Rainbows

In the forest, I saw damp, bumpy ground, cool, moist, knee-high grass, gorgeous croaking frogs and rocks no smaller than boulders.

In the mid-height of the tree line, I saw trees taller than giants, with bark so rough you could cut yourself on it. Leaves so big that they blotted out most of the sun!

At the top of the tallest tree, birds of all colors screeched at me on the top of their tiny lungs from their mile-high nests in the trees as if I intended to steal their eggs.

What an experience! I can’t wait to go again!!!

My Observations During Lunch

In the cafeteria at Wayside School today, the room was bursting with life.

Confined within smooth pale green walls, I saw hungry, hyper and especially the young children munching on their lunch.

Silly Willy, a tall sixth grader was strolling down the aisle with a plastic blue tray. A mountain of used blue trays stood so tall that Willy vanished when he walked behind them . Hundreds of dirty, soiled brown-muck colored tables occupied space in the cafeteria, with rough hot-pink chairs at each table.

I heard children’s jaws clenching potato chips and such. Little groups of children clamped at tables whispered happily while gobbling up their lunches. Juice-boxes getting sucked up so tightly, you would think they are made of rubber. The sound of forks and spoons clanging against bowls and plates echoed the room. The scent of Miss Mush’s Ham Bam sandwiches floated like clouds in the already smelly atmosphere. The sugary smell of orange, apple, and just about any flavor you can think of hits the nostrils.

This is a typical lunch day at Wayside School.

My Favorite Thing About Home Schooling

My favorite thing about home-schooling is the space in the apartment I can use by having more books and pencils at hand, and all the attention from my dad and mom, both are my instructors.

I enjoy the attention because I’m an only child and I’m used to it. I can sneak food from the fridge when I am hungry, and I no longer have a teacher screaming on the top of her lungs to keep the children in check. When I was in public school, I had to sits for hours in the same chair, whereas at home I can sometimes sit on the couch.

Best of all, I learn at my own pace and can ask infinite questions!!!

If I Could Design My Room

The first change I would make, would be to put my bunk bed by the window. Then I would grandma’s bed in that spot instead. After that I think I’ll put my dressing drawer on the left side of my room entrance. Next I’d turn the closet that I don’t use into a craft room, followed by removing my desk that nobody uses and instead place my bookshelf there. Finally I’d round it all with a cherry on top by giving back to my parents a dresser that they use and so kindly stuck it in my room.

My Favorite Thing That Happened In The Summer

My favorite thing that happened over the summer was when my new neighbor ,Dora, took me to the beach with her three sons and her husband.

It was a sunny day and a cloudless sky. It was a short 30 min drive and I was super exited. After a five min walk the beach was everything I expected it to be, except for the vomit green water. There was a huge playground and there was people all over the place. To our left, there was a short stone wall that teens were jumping off. We took a spot by the stone wall. Then Alex, the oldest, dragged me to the beach and we swam in the green murky water and took turns soaking each other. Then we dried off and ate lunch. Soon after we played with his two young brothers Al and Lu. Furthermore we went to a gigantic playground while Alex played in the water with his school friends. Finally, we went home and I took a HUGE shower.
